When the oven reaches the set temperature, the control cuts off current to the igniter and gas valve, shutting off the burner. The burner remains off until the oven temperature drops about 10 degrees below the set point, at which point the ignition process repeats to relight the burner and maintain the desired temperature.

This ignition system is both reliable and safe, as the gas valve will only open when the glow bar is hot enough to ignite the gas, ensuring proper burner operation.

Direct Spark Ignition System
The direct spark ignition system is managed by an electronic control board. When you set the oven controls to start the oven, the system initiates the following ignition process:

1. The control board sends an electric current to the spark electrode and gas valve to ignite the burner.

2. Gas flows through the burner tube, and the igniter electrode generates a spark to light the gas.
